Southern Highlands Orienteers (SHOO)’s SOS series brings great sprint-style events to local schools. Because the schools are fenced and courses are broken into a series of short legs, the SOS series is fantastic for kids to come and grow in confidence, and learn independent orienteering skills. Also, kids from the hosting school run free, so round up your friends!

Assembly location and time
The assembly is at Mount Annan Christian College, Mount Annan. There will be red and white orienteering directional signs out from Narellan Road to guide you into the assembly. Just park in the school grounds and come to the registration desk on the basketball courts.

Event registration is from 9:30am. Event briefing (particularly important for new orienteers) is at 10.00am). You can then start your run any time between 10:00am and 11:00am (it's a good idea to take a bit of time to plan using your map).

Courses and cost
There are a range of courses on offer to suit both adults and kids. Kids from 5 upwards can participate, with simple courses who are beginners, through to more advanced “racing” courses for those who have orienteered before, or want a challenge.
