Summer Saturdays 2: Currans Hill

  • Currans Hill Dr Currans Hill, NSW, 2567 Australia (map)

Southern Highlands Orienteers (SHOO) is proud to bring orienteering to the suburbs and parks of the Macarthur. Summer Saturdays are a great way to learn orienteering close to home, or to pack some fast-paced competitive orienteering into your weekend. Oh, and for this event, residents of Currans Hill and Mount Annan can participate for free.

Currans Hill was a new map in 2019, and features some interesting little sections of bush, and some nice challenges in the streets (how about that creek last year?).

Assembly location and time
The assembly is at Jack Nash Reserve, off Currans Hill Drive. There will be red and white orienteering directional signs out to guide you into the assembly. Just park nearby and come to the registration desk.

Event registration is from 9:00am. Event briefing (particularly important for new orienteers) is at 9.30am). You can then start your run any time between 9:30am and 10:30am (it's a good idea to plan using your map).

Courses and cost
We have the following courses available:

  • Short line course (approx 2km), good for kids and beginners

  • “Score” course: You have 45 minutes to get to as many checkpoints as you can - the most points in the shortest time wins!

Costs:

  • Adults: $12 for an Orienteering NSW member, $14 for a non-member

  • Family and group concessions available.

DM us if you have any questions, or see the full event flyer.
